Cardiology Specialist Consulatation

Cardiology Specialist Consultations with Dr Jodi Harker. Jodi is a General and Cardiac Imaging Cardiologist. Most patients will also require a 12-lead ECG as part of the consultation. 

Transthoracic Echocardiogram

A resting transthoracic echocardiogram is a specialised type of ultrasound to assess the structure and function of your heart. Your transthoracic echocardiogram will be performed by our highly experienced cardiac sonographer. Typically, transthoracic echocardiograms take around 45 minutes. No special preparation is needed for the investigation. You will be required to lie on your left-hand side for the test. Please be prepared to remove your shirt and any upper undergarments. Results are sent to your referring doctor and may not be available at the time of the test.

Transoesophageal Echocardiogram

Transoesophageal echocardiograms are performed by a Cardiac Imaging Cardiologist. They are performed at Pindara Private Hospital as a day admission or as part of an admission to Hospital. Admission paperwork for Pindara Private Hospital will need to be completed.  Please note that there may be additional out-of-pocket expenses associated with the admission, including Anaesthetist fees, Procedure Gap fees, and Hospital admission fees (depending on your private medical insurance and Hospital admission excess).
